Job description

Charity People are thrilled to be working with Breast Cancer Now, a national health charity that supports thousands of people in our communities who are effected by breast cancer.

To enable the charity to best support their network of fundraisers, and create a sector-leading programme, you will be joining a newly developed fundraising team working alongside another Community Fundraiser where you will be jointly responsible for the London, South and Wales regions.

Community Fundraiser

Covering London, South & Wales

£33,000 to £36,500 per annum

Full-time and permanent, 35 hours per week

London office (hybrid working – 2 days in the office)

About the charity

Breast Cancer Now, the research and support charity are the place to turn for anything and everything to do with breast cancer. The brightest minds in breast cancer research are here. Making life-saving research happen in labs across the UK and Ireland.

Support services, trustworthy breast cancer information and specialist nurses are here. Ready to show support, whenever it’s needed.

Dedicated campaigners are here. Fighting for the best possible treatment, services and care, for anyone affected by breast cancer.

Why? Because Breast Cancer Now believe that by 2050, everyone diagnosed with breast cancer will live – and be supported to live well. But to create that future, they need to act now.

The role

As a Community Fundraiser, you’ll build exceptional relationships with individuals, volunteers, clubs and societies, and inspire long term engagement from new and existing supporters. You’ll also create new opportunities from our successful DIY fundraising programme, growing the pipeline for high lifetime value fundraising.

Working alongside a community fundraising executive that you’ll line manage, you’ll play a pivotal role in developing a top tier stewardship programme which exceeds the expectations of supporters. And helps to generate long-term, sustainable income so we can reach our goal that by 2050 everyone with breast cancer lives, and lives well.

About you

You love working with people and have a talent for forging relationships. Whether it’s helping someone plan a fantastic fundraiser or finding innovative ways to show our appreciation, you’ll get a buzz from stewarding our incredible supporters.

Having navigated complex relationships with high value supporters before, you have the confidence to proactively engage and influence a range of audiences. You’ve also proven your ability to spot a fundraising opportunity and bring your ideas to life.

You have excellent communication and project management skills. Experience working in a busy supporter or customer facing role is also a bonus.

Your experience may have been gained in community, or perhaps another fundraising discipline or the commercial sector. If you’re a team player with great initiative and want to play an active role in taking our programme to new heights, we’d love to hear from you.

To express interest please send your CV to Tanya@CharityPeople.co.uk. If your CV is of interest, we’ll be in touch with further details and to arrange a phone or video call. You will need to submit a CV and cover letter before the final deadline for this role which is 9:00am on March 18th 2024.

We want you to have every opportunity to demonstrate your skills, ability, and potential. Please contact us if you require any assistance or adjustment so that we can help ensure the application process works for you.
