Community Fundraising Coordinator

Position Objective:

To coordinate the implementation and development of a community / peer to peer fundraising program for PETA and its affiliates

To maintain relationships with external peer to peer partners to help encourage PETA supporters to fundraise on behalf of PETA

Term of Employment:

Hybrid remote in London

Salary:

£30,000

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the implementation of peer to peer fundraising programs for PETA
  • Coordinate the creation and maintenance of peer to peer websites for supporters to learn about and sign up to participate in challenge events and other forms of peer to peer fundraising.
  • Maintain relationships with external partners such as Run for Charity to ensure that PETA can always get cost effective placements in challenge events
  • Maintain relationships with other selected third party fundraising sites such as Just Giving and implement any new relationships as they arise
  • Maintain a calendar of significant challenge events taking place throughout the year
  • Coordinate generating participants and income from major events held in the challenge events calendar such as the London Marathon
  • Coordinate and attend relevant trade fairs, festivals and events to acquire new peer to peer participants and to promote PETA and its fundraising
  • Prepare and update the department's financial, income and expenditure, and statistical reports
  • Verify and input certain donor data into the membership database, including demographic, membership, and personal information
  • Set up and manage mobile giving where required for general fundraising communications and significant events, and coordinate the creation of required web pages
  • Work alongside the wider fundraising team with regards to existing donors participating in challenge events
  • Assist with other administrative functions in the peer to peer department, as required
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications:

  • Experience of working in a similar role within a non-profit fundraising environment
  • Willingness and ability to work weekends as required
  • Clean full driving licence and the willingness to travel to events across the UK as required, including some overnight stays involving camping at festivals
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Proven effective research skills and the ability to synthesise and present information
  • Proven ability to prioritise and handle numerous projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Presentable and with the ability to inspire others to take part in challenge events for PETA
  • Demonstrated excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Commitment to the objectives of the organisation
  • Adherence to a vegan lifestyle strongly preferred
