Qualifications Essential criteria Diploma/Degree in Nutrition & Dietetics Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Dietitian Evidence of post graduate training in enteral feeding Evidence of CPD through maintenance of a portfolio Clinical Educators/Student Assessment Skills course or equivalent Desirable criteria Membership of The British Dietetic Association and/or specialist interest groups Willingness to undertake education/training to a higher level degree e.g. masters level Experience of supporting dietetic students on placement Essential criteria Broad range of clinical experience prior to specialising Experience working with practitioners from dietetics or other professions who are experienced in enteral feeding Experience of managing a caseload of clients with complex needs. Experience of problem solving Experience of effective team working Supervision of junior staff and students Experience of participating in service development projects Experience of teaching/training other healthcare professionals in groups Desirable criteria Experience of working in Acute and Community settings with enterally fed patients Experience of assessing and treating patients who do not speak English or have other barriers to communication Participation in clinical auditskills Essential criteria Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with individuals and groups. Able to give formal and informal presentations and to plan deliver and evaluate teaching sessions at specialist level Uses patient centred approach when working with patients and making the appropriate use of motivational interviewing and dietary counselling skills Able to develop good interpersonal relationships with a range of people to work effectively and demonstrate a commitment to multidisciplinary team working Excellent time management skills and able to work to deadlines. Essential criteria Knowledge of enteral feeding and approaches to nutrition achieved through experience or study. Understanding the roles and responsibilities of all of the professions within a MDT team. An understanding of quality governance and evidence based practice. Knowledge of recent NHS & Trust developments and their impact on the service Essential criteria Car owner/driver subject to the conditions of the DDA Ability to work flexible hours and out of hours including weekends based on the needs of the service DBS check
