Job description

How you'll make a difference

As a Community Meals Driver you will make a difference by delivering nutritious meals to members of the community who may not be able to cook for themselves.

You will be part of a dedicated team providing a vital service to a range of customers throughout South Gloucestershire. Working independently, you will have a regular round providing the opportunity to get to know your customers and build relationships. As a driver you will be able to navigate your way around the South Gloucestershire area confidently in order to deliver Community Meals in a timely manner.


What you need to know
Rota pattern - every other weekend Saturday and Sunday
Hours: 10.45 - 14.15
  • Allowance: Sunday enhancement (time & half)
  • Salaries pro-rated to hours worked
  • Community meals is a year-round service, including Christmas and Bank holidays
  • Based at the Council Offices, Badminton Road, Yate, Bristol, BS37 5AF
  • Uniform will be provided
  • We will offer food hygiene and Allergen training if required

What we need from you

  • It is essential that you have a full driving license for this post.
  • Ideally you will have knowledge of the South Gloucestershire area.
  • You must be comfortable working independently.
  • You will have good communication skills and be confident interacting with people
  • You will be confident in making decisions knowing when to escalate any concerns.
  • You will enjoy working at pace, able to balance your schedule with the needs of your customers.

Please note that due to the nature of this role it is a requirement of employment that an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is obtained for this post.
