Form of workSanctuary Personnel is currently looking for an experienced Band 6 Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN) to take on a new ongoing contract role working in an Adults Mental Health Team in Abingdon, completing assessment, treatment and duty work.
Location: Abingdon.
Pay Rate: £30 - £32 per hour (assignment rate).
Contract Type: Locum, 6-month ongoing.
Working Hours:
- Ideally full time, but part time may be considered with a minimum of 3 days per week.
- Mostly 9am 5pm, Monday Friday.
- Long days and weekends may also be available once a successful induction period is complete.
Main Duties:
- Work across the assessment and treatment function of the team.
- Assess the Mental Health of people referred by their GP or partner agencies and providing time-limited interventions where appropriate.
- Hold care co-ordinator responsibility for a small caseload of CPA patients who experience severe and enduring mental illness, providing recovering focused treatment interventions in the community.
- Cover duty around 1 day per week which involves triaging referrals and undertaking emergency assessments.
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team made-up of Consultant Psychiatrists, Junior Medics, Nurses, OTs, Social Workers, Support Workers (including peer-support workers), Psychologists and Admin. You will be well supported and receive regular supervision from an experienced Team Manager or Deputy Team Manager.
Requirements of the Community Psychiatric Nurse:
- Degree or equivalent in Mental Health Nursing.
- Experience working as a Mental Health Nurse, including working in a Community Mental Health setting with patients with severe and enduring mental illness.
- NMC Registration.
- Have excellent assessment and communication skills, and able to work dynamically within a fast paced, challenging yet rewarding team.
- Full driving licence with access to a car for business use.
