Community Officer- Local Government (Temporary Ongoing)

Honeycomb is delighted to be partnering with Ards North Down Borough Council & is currently seeking an immediate 'Tobacco Control Officer'. Temporary ongoing post with travel required.

The Client – This large organisation operates across a broad remit through its specific departments. Currently the Community and Wellbeing directorate are seeking a Senior Officer Grade 2 personnel to assist with the delivery of legislation advocacy.

The Role – An exciting collaboration across multiple Local Government catchment areas i.e.) travel required to multiple sites with mileage reimbursed. Access to a car for business purposes would be required. Whilst initially temporary this is a vacant post so strong likelihood of extension can be considered. 36 hours per week, hybrid structure with a base site of Newtownards.

Duties would include but not be limited to:

• The post holder will be responsible for monitoring and securing compliance with the smoking (Northern Ireland) Order 2006, the Children and Young Persons- Protection from Tobacco-( Northern Ireland) order 1991 and associated tobacco control legislation.

The Person –

• Have obtained a third level qualification and hold at least 1 years’ experience dealing with business in an enforcement and advisory/promotional role.
• In the absence of a degree the candidate must demonstrate at least 3 years’ experience dealing with business in an enforcement and advisory/ promotional capacity.
