ABOUT US

We are recruiting on behalf of our client who is a 25 year old autistic female. M enjoys days out on the bus, swimming and daily walks. M loves cooking, visiting coffee shops, live music, walks in the park and swimming. M likes spending time with her family going for long drives. M requires personal care, M wears a pad for when M is out in the community. M enjoys visiting museums and visiting shopping centers. M enjoys visiting the sea side, M understands complex language but is non verbal. M will use some single words to communicate her needs and noises for other needs.

Role

As a Behavior Support worker, you will work with a group of clients, modelling positive behavior and supporting clients to access learning activities and social opportunities which are joyful and meaningful to them. You will be required to develop a strong working relationship with our clients and their families and implement specific interventions which aim to raise self-esteem and improve overall quality of life. Your responsibilities will include: Promoting the safeguarding and wellbeing of all pupils Providing holistic Behaviour SupportDeveloping confidence and promoting positive peer interaction Providing opportunities for academic, social and emotional development in the community. Provide person-centred support to a range of vulnerable individuals. Assist with personal independence, and where necessary, mobility, moving and handling. Assist in the delivery of personalised support to meet individuals health and wellbeing needs. Provide and receive complex, sensitive or contentious information. Develop own knowledge and skills and that of others. Promote best practices as a Support Worker in health and safety and security. Assist in maintaining and developing services. Contribute to quality improvement. Promote people's equality, diversity and rights. Work autonomously with minimum supervision. Applying your experience and reasoning skills to a range of complex and varied patient case mixes. We are seeking an individual with experience supporting young autistic people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs and who is passionate about improving opportunities for vulnerable young people within a specialist setting.

An average week will include

Monday - Saturday

Hours can vary, our client would like support with engaging in community activities including swimming, walks, days out and eating out.

8-6pm days Monday to Saturday available

The ideal candidate should have the following qualities and skills:

  • Communication: you are able to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Leadership: you take the responsibility to achieve the set goals and take initiative to plan and organise the day.
  • Energy: you like to work and you are willing to invest time and effort to achieve the goals.
  • Teamwork: you are a team worker, but you can also work individually.
  • IT Literate.
  • Full UK driving license.
