We currently have an opportunity to join East Suffolk Council's Communities and Leisure Services Team as a Community Safety Officer.

Your role

You will work in all communities across East Suffolk impacted by the EDF Sizewell C project, with a particular focus on Leiston and the surrounding area, to ensure Community Safety as the Sizewell C build develops.

To do this, you’ll be guided by the East Suffolk Council Community Safety Action Plans (both the East Suffolk and Sizewell C plans) and will work with partners like the Police, Suffolk County Council, and local voluntary sector groups to deliver effective projects to keep residents and workers safe with a focus on key issues including Violence Against Women and Girls, Criminal Exploitation, Anti-Social Behaviour and Hate Crime.

What you will need

You will have obtained a relevant degree (or appropriate profession qualification) or the equivalent level of practice experience in Community Safety/ASB and in the public, private or voluntary sector. The candidate will have previous experience of leading the development, delivery and management of programmes and projects based on evidence of need and awareness of project structure, roles, processes and documentation. The candidate will have the ability to build effective and positive working relationships with local partners including, SCC, Police, Probation, Health organisations, Town and Parish Councils and the Voluntary Community.
