Job details
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Community Team for an officer to deliver projects and partnership initiatives linked to the Community Safety Partnership (CSP) action plan and the Police and Crime Commissioners, Police and Crime Plan.
This is a fixed-term contract until 31 March 2025.
Working across Huntingdonshire, you will respond to community concerns in relation to Crime and Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) to ensure that the District remains a safe place to live, work and visit.
As the Community Safety Partnership Delivery Officer, you will work both alone as well as in partnership with both internal and external services and organisations to affectively address issues of:
Community impact
Local level crime
Business Crime
Serious Violence
Anti-Social Behaviour and community matters of concern
Contextual Safeguarding concerns.
Reporting to the Community Resilience Manager, you will be responsible for developing and delivering community resolutions from local intelligence and delivering longer term projects on various Community Safety initiative linked to the CSP. The role will also require you to analyse the effectiveness of the project and measure successful outcomes.
You will work with members of the community as well as Parish, Town and District Councillors to share and receive information regarding community issues as well as support our customers as required.
A working knowledge of relevant legislation in relation to Crime and Anti-Social Behaviour is a must and experience in the delivery of these powers would be beneficial.
You will also have:
An enthusiasm for problem solving and utilising the tools and powers available to them
GCSE at Grade A to C in English and Mathematics, or equivalent work experience in this field
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
A customer focus and the ability to encourage feedback from the community
The ability to remain calm, polite and professional in confrontational situations
The ability to work in partnership to deliver an agreed outcome
A full driving license and ability to drive District Council owned vehicles.
You will need to be able to work flexibly in line with the needs of the role which may include occasional weekend working.
This role is subject to a satisfactory DBS check.
