The role at Josh’s Care Company:
Rate of pay:£12.75 per hour.
Location: Chapletown, Sheffield.
Contract: Permanent - We have 3 potential contracts available. 28, 35 or 42 hours per week.
Hours: - The role would consist of working 14 hour or 7 hour split shifts. This is a one to one position.
Times: The 14 hour shift times are 8am – 10pm. The 7 hour split shifts are 8am until 3pm or 3pm until 10pm.
About the role:
- Supporting a young lady with Multiple Sclerosis.
- Supporting with moving and handling, catheter care, stoma care, personal care and administering medication.
- Supporting with mobility equipment such as wheelchairs and walking aids.
- Assisting with preparing meals, cleaning, laundry, ironing and daily household duties.
- Be willing to participate and support in activities with the service user, such as wheelchair rugby, wheelchair basketball, badminton, swimming, dog walking, visiting the park, shopping and many more.
- Participate in these activities – such as cycling on an adapted trike, going into the swimming pool with the service user etc.
- Providing support with hospital appointments.
- Building a rapport with the service user.
What we are looking for:
- Friendly and calm nature but also confident and reassuring.
- Enthusiasm.
- Punctuality and reliability.
- Proactive and organised.
- Good sense of humour.
- Care experience.
- Pet friendly – service user has a pet dog.
- A knowledge of Multiple Sclerosis (preferred).
- A driving license (Essential).
- A confident driver to drive a mobility vehicle.
- A willingness to participate in many fun activities.
About the service user:
Our service user is in her 30’s and lives with her partner and dog called Lucy. She is looking for someone who is enthusiastic about her many interests including wheelchair sports, rugby, basketball, badminton and potentially new activities too. Other activities include swimming, cycling, shopping and dog walking. She loves spending time with her friends who lives in Keighley and her pet dog. She is really looking forward to meeting her potential carers and having someone to share these activities with as well as supporting her each day.
