The School is a mainstream, state funded junior & senior school that caters for pupils aged 3-19 with a range of Complex Learning difficulties, including autism, physical and sensory impairments, and medical needs. The school offers a stimulating and nurturing environment, where every pupil is valued and respected.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work under the direction of the class teacher and the senior leadership team to provide high-quality support for the learning and development of our pupils. You will assist with the planning and delivery of lessons, the assessment and recording of progress, and the management of behaviour and safety. You will also contribute to the wider school community by participating in extracurricular activities, events, and training.
To be eligible for this role, you must have:
- A minimum of NVQ Level 2 or equivalent experience in supporting teaching and learning
- Experience of working with children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities
- A positive and flexible attitude, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our pupils
- A willingness to learn and develop your professional practice
The pay for this role is £12+ per hour, depending on experience. The working hours are Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, during term time only. The contract is until the end of the academic year, with ad hoc supply available.
