Central is currently recruiting for a Complex Needs Project Worker to work in the Kings Cross area. The service provides support to adults facing multiple disadvantages including homelessness and Complex Needs to provide a stepping stone to move towards independent living.
The successful candidate will be required to work 37.5 hours per week, working across Monday - Sunday on a rota basis from 8AM - 8PM (12.5 hour shifts). You'll be required to work every other weekend. There is one week of mid shifts (Monday - Friday, 10am - 6pm) per month. Temporary cover is required for approximately 3-4 months. The pay rate for this role is £13.80 per hour, with £1.67 holiday pay, totalling £15.47 per hour.
In this position, you will be expected to;
- Hold a caseload of 8 key clients and conduct regular key working sessions resulting in agreed Support Plans that are person-centred, trauma informed and enable progression
- Complete comprehensive risk and needs assessments.
- Use specialist knowledge of substance use, mental health, and other needs areas, contribute to risk assessment and risk management.
- Work in partnership with other departments and external agencies to ensure that client needs are assessed and addressed appropriately and they have access to relevant services.
- Ensure key clients' income is maximised by accessing appropriate benefits, supporting to acquire budgeting skills, and set up bank accounts
- Prepare void rooms for letting within agreed target times and efficiently process referrals by carrying out initial needs assessments and interviews.
- Carry out room and building checks and report and follow up all hazards/repairs/maintenance issues in a timely fashion.
- Support client peers to make recovery visible in the schemes and, where appropriate, co-deliver activities.
- Support clients that may be ready to move into work, education, or training by assisting them to access suitable courses or placements.
To apply for this role, you must have;
- Experience of working with homelessness and /or rough sleepers
- Experiencing supporting people to identify personal goals and supporting them through a process of change
- Experience delivering highly personalised assessment and casework, support planning,
- Experience of managing challenging situations in relation to people, including responding calmly to crisis and deal promptly, effectively and safely to complex situations.
- Experience of working in partnership with a range of individuals/agencies to coordinate activities and achieve positive outcomes
- A non-judgemental approach to working with multi-disadvantaged/Complex Needs clients and to promote a strengths-based approach.
- Knowledge of financial support available to clients to ensure income maximisation, rent payment, and increased financial resilience.
- An understanding of professional boundaries and their importance when delivering trauma- informed support.

In order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Current valid right to work in the UK
- Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years* (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise)
- A fully enhanced DBS registered on the DBS update service or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £50)
- Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process
