Milestone Infrastructure (Part of M Group Services) look after 24,000 miles of roads, 380,000 lighting assets and 20,000 miles of footways, always with a view to ensuring that all works are carried out as sustainably as possible and with minimal impact to local communities.

We are currently looking to recruit a Compliance and ICP Manager to work in our Street lighting Sector. To manage the compliance for the street lighting business and the ICP. Liaising with the Senior Lighting Team, the SHEQ team and outside agencies to ensure the business stays compliant to all relevant Lighting standards, electrical standards, PUWER / LOLER. Working closely with the wider SHEQ team to develop audit schedules and to drive these through the business.

Role & responsibilities will be:

  • To be accountable for leading and managing all compliance related functions within the sector.
  • To manage and set the annual audit programmes for the sector.
  • Ensure all relevant standards are communicated to the sector and undertake regular audits to ensure these are being met.
  • Undertake regular meetings with the SHEQ team to ensure compliance across all parts of the sector.
  • Lead the Quality Inspections under Level Three audits (internal) , Lead for the sector external Audits for BSI / HEA / NIC/EIC / Lloyds.
  • Deliver presentations to the SLT on changes to all relevant standards and ensure that
  • As the ICP Manager (Civils and Electrical), the person appointed will be responsible for ensuring that the company carries out work in accordance with the relevant standards, specification, and regulations, including the issue of appropriate certification for all work carried out.
  • Working closely with the Authorising and Assessing Officers to ensure jointing quality is excellent;
  • Ensuring that all DNO specifications, safety rules etc. which are relevant to the scope of registration are current.
  • Ensure correct financial management of the company’s ICP business;
  • To ensure that all performance standards are achieved under the performance standards of the contract(s)
  • Ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Forecasting of projects with commercial team
  • To develop relationships within Milestone and with outside parties that will contribute to the success of the project and the Company.
  • Ensure effective management of sub-contractors and suppliers in conjunction with the Commercial Team.
  • Agree, set and monitor performance objectives in terms of time, cost, safety, quality and programme.
  • Ensure staff are trained and competent.
  • Manage site based personnel issues

Skills & Knowledge Requirements:

  • Trade experience or related Job performance (ICP / NERS Jointer / Manager)
  • Technical capability
  • Track record of profitable contracts delivered to a high level of quality safety and client satisfaction
  • Site Managers Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS). / NEBOSH or BSI9001-2015 Internal / External Auditor
  • Up to date knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
  • Experience in leading staff with confidence and judgement, ensuring that they work as an effective/efficient team, offering positive and flexible leadership and inspiring, encouraging, motivating and supporting staff to deliver excellent results.
  • Ability to assess the impact of risk and opportunity and respond appropriately.
  • Ability to demonstrate a strong commitment and actions to deliver excellent customer service that focuses on both internal and external customers, working effectively with others to ensure a joined up service is provided.
  • Ability to proactively develop plans, initiate and evaluate change to bring about service improvements through working/consulting with stakeholders including staff, members and partner agencies.
