The Compliance & Risk Manager embeds GSK standard processes at Barnard Castle, including Risk Management, Management Monitoring (MM), and Independent Business Monitoring (IBM) to ensure the site effectively identifies, manages risk, and improves internal controls.
They lead the compliance activities on site ensuring systems and processes are in place to implement, embed and monitor adherence to GSK policies.
Please note, this is a site-based role at Barnard Castle, UK.
In this role you will…
- Establish a hands-on robust Risk and Compliance culture across site, thereby ensuring the highest quality in business processes and ways of working.
- Drive a culture change regarding end-to-end compliance adherence, monitoring, and assurance.
- Establish and regularly review Risk KPIs to drive continuous improvement, performance improvement to achieve agreed objectives and KPI targets.
- Review and ensure the risk management process is operating effectively and consistently applied to address risk identification and treatment, as well as, measuring, monitoring and communicating and controlling risk. Providing governance and assurance to the GSC policy.
- Own the risk data in the risk register contained in the GSK VQMS Risk Management System and its risk reporting to ensure compliance and performance targets are achieved and risk mitigated within a timely manner.
- Develop and deliver training materials to ensure ongoing awareness of new and updates in Risk Management and GSK Policies and Procedures.

Basic Qualifications & Skills:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
- Educated to degree level or gained extensive experience within Manufacturing site to understand processes and risk levels
- A background in risk management in Pharmaceuticals/Manufacturing or other similar regulated environment
- Inter-personal/networking skills so as to successfully interact with site-based leaders and teams across a range of disciplines, including above-site corporate functions and external government agencies
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with key site-based service providers to deliver service provision in agreement with established contracts/SLAs
- Good communication and people management skills
- Being able to promote good team-working relationships
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

- Advance degree or professional qualification in business, supply chain management or equivalent
