My client is seeking a skilled CNC Miller to join the manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have experience in programming CNC milling machines to produce high-quality precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications. The CNC Miller will be responsible for setting up machines, selecting proper tooling, adjusting machine settings, and monitoring the production process to ensure accuracy and efficiency. The Role Run CNC milling machines to produce precision components by engineering drawings and specifications. Select appropriate tooling, inserts, and fixtures for each job, and install them onto the machine. Programming machines. Load and unload raw materials and finished parts onto the machine, and perform tool changes as required. Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and efficiency, making adjustments as needed to maintain tight tolerances and surface finish requirements. Conduct regular maintenance on machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn or damaged parts to ensure optimal performance. Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify conformance to specifications. Troubleshoot issues with machines, tools, or programs, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and maximize productivity. Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols at all times, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment and following lockout/tagout procedures. The Candidate Proven experience programming, setting, and operating CNC milling machines in a manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling selection, and cutting parameters. Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings Familiarity with G-code programming and CAM software would be beneficial Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude. Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The Package The salary offered for this position is £18- £20 p/h to a candidate who can meet all key qualifications and abilities.
