About the role

We have an opportunity for an experienced Configuration Management Database Manager to support NFU Mutual and its growth in this discipline. We’re looking for someone who can manage how the CMDB works, manage the way data is automatically inputted into it, and how all items interlink with each other. As part of the role you’ll be responsible for the creation of service maps, supporting the business in incident, change and problem management, and helping identify users impacted by service outages.

This is a newly created role bringing the capability of CMDB management in house, as a result of our recent ServiceNow implementation, so you will be pivotal in designing processes and supporting colleagues in relation to CMDB management. You’ll also have the opportunity to support high profile IT projects including our shift towards further cloud-based offerings for our platforms, and migration away from traditional on-premise, datacentres.

In the role you’ll have the opportunity to manage the structure and the governance of our IT estate. And put in place the appropriate guidelines for the business to follow.

About you

As our Configuration Management Database Manager, you’ll have the right mixture of technical knowledge, as well as being able to engage and communicate clearly with stakeholders at all levels. You will be the type of person that has strong leadership qualities and can share knowledge, to upskill and coach colleagues. You will also be or have:

• Strong experience with ServiceNow, demonstrating the ability to work with the platform.
• Enterprise-level experience in Configuration Management and database management.
• Familiarity with SACM (Service Asset and Configuration Management) principles.
• Exposure to ITSM (IT Service Management) tools and methodologies.
• Exceptional analytical skills for identifying potential points of failure and dependencies
