Our client has invested over GBP100 million into renewable projects, installing 500+ megawatts of power generation across the UK, enough to power one million homes. Committed to decarbonising the grid, our client specialises in building, owning, and operating Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), with over 1GW of battery storage projects in the pipeline.

What are we looking for?

We're currently seeking a motivated Connections Engineer to join our client's expanding team. As a key member, you will play a vital role in managing the connections process for our portfolio of battery storage projects nationwide.

Reporting to the Development Manager, you'll oversee various aspects of grid connections, fostering relationships with stakeholders like National Grid, Distribution Network Operators (DNOs), and Independent Distribution Network Operators (IDNOs).

Your responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing connection offers and curtailment data
• Tracking and organizing connections payments, milestones, and securities
• Coordinating with key stakeholders post-connection offer acceptance
• Managing projects through the Statement of Works process
• Keeping abreast of grid sector developments and reporting progress to the team
• Attending relevant conferences and webinars to stay updated on industry trends

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Minimum 1 year of experience in Grid Connections
• Thorough understanding of the UK grid connection process, regulations, and standards
• Excellent communication, organization, and relationship-building skills
• Strong knowledge of renewable energy technology, particularly energy storage systems
• Due diligence skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently
• Motivated and self-driven with a desire to excel in the electrical industry
• A degree in engineering or science disciplines preferred, or equivalent industry experience
