Role Overview: As the Construction Buyer, you will play a crucial role in sourcing, purchasing, and managing construction materials and supplies for our projects. Working closely with project managers and suppliers, you will ensure timely delivery of materials while maintaining cost efficiency and quality standards. Your ability to negotiate favourable terms and build strong relationships with suppliers will be essential to our project success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Source and procure construction materials, equipment, and services in accordance with project requirements and budgetary constraints.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to achieve cost savings and maximize value for the company.
• Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, invoices, and supplier agreements.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate deliveries to ensure timely availability of materials on–site.
• Evaluate supplier performance and identify opportunities for improvement or alternative sourcing options.
• Collaborate with project teams to forecast material needs and develop procurement strategies.
• Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and new products to inform purchasing decisions.
• Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to orders, deliveries, or quality of materials.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Buyer or Procurement Specialist, preferably within the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, specifications, and supply chain management principles.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to analyse data and make informed decisions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software applications.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast–paced environment.
• A proactive attitude and willingness to take initiative to drive process improvements.
