We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Multi Skills Lecturer to join our Building Services team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences across a range of construction and multi-skills programmes, ensuring student retention and achievement.

Day to Day of the role of a Construction Multi Skills Lecturer:

• Teach, develop, and improve programmes of study in construction and multi-skills up to Level 2.
• Engage in lesson preparation and planning, as well as the assessment and evaluation of students.
• Review and assess performance in collaboration with colleagues, engaging in critical debate on pedagogic issues.
• Commit to inclusive learning and demonstrate best practices to meet individual learner needs, promoting equal opportunities.
• Implement college policies and participate constructively in college activities.
• Maintain a flexible approach to work and adapt to the ever-changing landscape of Further Education.

Required Skills & Qualifications for the Construction Lecturer role :

• Qualified to a minimum of Level 3 in a relevant subject area.
• Working knowledge and experience across a range of construction craft trades.
• Teaching/training experience, with the ability to teach up to Level 2 Construction/Multi Skills programmes.
• Good communication skills, with the ability to motivate and engage students aged 16-19.
• Commitment to Equality and Diversity and Safeguarding in education.
• Good interpersonal skills and classroom practice.
• Ability to use IT within the curriculum.
• Good administration/organisational skills.
• Tutoring experience and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Commitment to continuing professional development and self-motivation.
• An advanced level teaching qualification recognised by the FE sector (e.g., DET, PGCE,DTLLS (Diploma in Lifelong Learning Sector); 7407 Stage 3/FE Certificate Stage 3, older Certificates in Education include Post Graduate Certificate in Education or PGCE is desirable, or willingness to work towards a Level 5 Teacher Training qualification
