JOB PURPOSE SUMMARY
The Construction manager will be responsible for the delivery on time and budget of the design and construction of the new Terminal car Park 2 (TCP2) and accessory works.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Minimum 15 years’ experience of similar scale design/construction projects
Candidate should have Construction/ civil engineering background. Airports/aviation will be a plus, but not essential
Degree in construction/civil engineering
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Leadership and delivery of the NEC Design & Build contract from a client side.
Facilitates TCP2 design discussions ensuring design principles are agreed and adopted (pre-construction) and satisfy project specifications, cost and time requirements.
Prepares the project timeline and construction schedule with the assigned Senior Project Manager or Project Manager. Updates the construction schedule to meet project deliverables.
Manages the project risk and opportunities register, ensuring corrective actions are taken in a timely manner to ensure project milestones/requirements are achieved. Conduct project delivery reviews, including site inspections, to monitor progress and support project-assigned team members.
Actively manages the resolution of issues and problems, and recommends, approves, and implements modifications to the project plans, schedule, staffing, or budget as needed and in a timely manner.
Maintains exceptional relationships with internal stakeholders, general contractors, subcontractors, design partners and other team members. Drives contractor performance to ensure high quality work is produced in adherence to budget, schedule and agreed quality/specifications.
Leads delivery of the Health & Safety plan, in support of the Company’s safety culture throughout project delivery and with all colleagues and 3rd parties leading to an injury-free environment.
Ensures that projects are built and delivered with the specified level of quality and to meet or exceed London Luton Airport requirements, and in compliance with all applicable regulations (including Concession Agreement).
Manages the RFI, submittal, and change order processes. Reviews and recommends change orders or amendments to the specifications, blueprints, and plans when appropriate, and ensures related documents and budgets are amended as needed to reflect changes to the project specifications, and these amendments are compliant with London Luton Airport’s Procurement Policies.
Deliver value engineering/constructability review efforts to achieve efficiencies in construction cost control and programme.
Able to effectively communicate the project’s vision and goals. Communicates with key business leaders, owners and partners to provide updates on the status of projects, surfaces and addresses concerns, and plans specific actions as needed to ensure the on-time and on-budget completion of the projects.
Leads and prepares agendas for various meetings such as project planning meetings, project review meetings, etc. as required for project milestone delivery.
