In this role, you will handle both contentious and non-contentious construction matters, advising on major standard form contracts such as JCT and NEC, and drafting bespoke amendments. You will manage disputes through adjudication and Technology and Construction Court proceedings, providing expert guidance on critical issues like pay less notices, loss and expense claims, extension of time claims, and final account disputes. Responsibilities also include drafting and reviewing warranties, bonds, guarantees, consultant appointments, novations, and reliance letters. Staying updated with developments in construction law and regulations, you will actively contribute to dispute resolution and negotiation, while playing a key role in the development and growth of the construction practice.
Requirements:
- 1-4 years PQE in dispute resolution/construction law.
- Experience with both contentious and non-contentious construction projects.
- Knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts.
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills.
- Experience with adjudication and Technology and Construction Court proceedings.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive approach to business development.
