About the Opportunity

We are looking for a dynamic Operations Director to lead our Consultancy & Delivery Excellence Line of Business. The role will focus on expanding a project delivery consultancy, growing a capability to enable Jacobs to support our clients early in the project life cycle during requirements, definition and pre-concept design stages, influencing from a construction, commissioning & operational perspective.

The consultancy business currently focuses on Project Management, Construction Management and Commissioning through detailed design & Delivery. As part of the overall business growth strategy the role will centre on growing a digital capability to support our clients in real time reporting, using live data to influence delivery & maintenance operations, strengthening the evolution of a true IAM capability.

The role will also involve the accountability for all business process & procedures driving continuity across delivery sectors by implementing Delivery Excellence for our clients.

Responsibilities:

  • HSE & Culture – Drive a Beyond Zero Health & Safety culture across our business both in delivery and consultancy operations. Implementing new innovative ideas to improve our safety culture and safety in delivery, meeting business objectives & metrics through positive implementation of human performance tools & techniques.
  • Consultancy in Delivery – Grow the consultancy function in alignment to the business strategy focusing on a solution driven approach, supporting our key clients across the project life cycle by growing a capability in the front end requirements and definition stages to complement the current back end delivery & commissioning capability.
  • Business Growth & Delivery Excellence – Delivery growth in line with forecasts, P&L accountability for performance unit and supporting all lines of business in achieving Delivery Excellence through internal support and guidance.
  • Functional Management – Lead & grow functional teams across Enterprise Program & Project Management, Construction, Commissioning & Digital aligning to the overall business strategy, supporting & guiding projects in achieving Delivery Excellence across our projects.
  • Digital – Developing & implementing a growth plan to support the expansion of our digital capability to meet business strategic objectives landing key pipeline opportunities.
  • Transformation - Support the business transformation function in exploring modern methods of construction and robotics in delivery to move new and emerging technology into business-as-usual activities.
  • Governance & Procedural Compliance – Accountable for developing, managing and maintaining process & procedures in line with operational teams and undertaking governance and project reviews across all areas of the business.
  • Global Integrated Delivery – Accountable to coordinate requirements, grow & interface between the UK and GID teams.

Here’s what you’ll need:

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A management degree / MBA would be desirable
  • Experience of leading operational teams in a design / construction business is essential.
  • Experience in senior management positions including P&L accountability is essential.
  • Experience in sales & senior stakeholder management is essential.
  • Experience in managing operation teams delivering digital projects would be desirable.
