We have an opportunity for a Consultant Anaesthetist to join their team of staff in the Theatre department.
We are seeking an enthusiastic Consultant Anaesthetist to join our team as a subject matter expert in anaesthesia, pain, intensive care and providing leadership for the pre assessment service. The successful candidate will be encouraged and supported to be involved in service design and development at hospital level with potential for more corporate involvement in specialty development as appropriate.
This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.
Skills and experience
- Proven ability to work as a strong team player within a multidisciplinary team
- Experience in providing anaesthesia for general, orthopaedic, daycase surgery and independent pre assessment
- Experience of working in the independent sector
- Innovative approach to provision of anaesthesia services with ability to embrace change to improve the provision of care.
- Able to take full and independent responsibility for delivering service without direct supervision.
- Able to offer expert clinical opinion on a range of problems in anaesthesia.
- Experience of governance, audit and appraisal processes
- Previous Intensive care or Outreach experience.
Qualifications
- Consultant on the GMC specialist register for Anaesthesia
- Licence to practice with the GMC
- FRCA qualification or equivalent
- Past record of FRCA academic achievement
