Job description

For over 24 years, our team have been supporting and guiding our clients to achieve low-carbon climate-resilient development. We assess contexts and baselines, design strategies and frameworks, develop policies, programmes and projects and unlock finance for public and private sector clients across the world.

This position is based in our offices in London, but a potential other location can be considered for the right candidate.


Duties

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research, including literature reviews and background searches on a broad range of subjects related to sustainable energy and Climate change
  • Collect data using various methods (e.g. desktop research, interviews, surveys) and analyse data gathered (e.g. policy, barrier and comparative analysis)
  • Devise strategies and interventions based on situation analysis, best practice and client requirements
  • Present findings in presentations and reports
  • Represent E Co. at client-facing events and meetings
  • Manage delivery of assignments and tasks, using E Co’s methodology
  • Coordinate inputs from co-workers and external contractors (international and local consultants) to deliver our services on time and consistent with our quality standards
  • Support tender preparation and project-related marketing campaigns
  • Contribute to E Co’s strategic initiatives as defined through internal strategy meetings

Essential requirements

  • Postgraduate degree – MBA, MA, MSc, PhD
  • An outstanding academic and career record
  • Sound knowledge and experience of climate mitigation/resilience sectors, e.g.:Renewable Energy, Energy Access, Energy Efficiency/Transport/EV transport, Smart cities, Urban development/ Forestry, AFOLU, REDD, Agriculture/ Water/ Waste/ Biodiversity, Ecosystems, Coastal adaptation /Health/Loss and Damage/DRR)
  • Proven and recent experience with development and/or implementation and/or evaluation of international technical assistance projects
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, empathetic and open
  • Successful track record in assessing sustainable energy/Climate change markets, identifying market barriers
  • Willingness to travel on assignments to Africa, Asia-Pacific, Latin America, and Eastern Europe
  • Strong oral and written English communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail
  • Highly conversant with internet and Microsoft Office applications
  • Able to structure and process qualitative and quantitative data and draw insightful conclusions from them
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience

Highly desirable

  • Relevant experience in Africa, Eastern Europe, Latin America, and/or Asia-Pacific
  • Fluency in another language (including French, Russian, Arabic, Turkish, Portuguese, Chinese, and Spanish)
  • A wide network of contacts in the sustainable and international development sector
