Job description

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust has a vacancy for a full-time Consultant Interventional Cardiologist.
The successful candidate will join a team of 8 Cardiologists, with a variety of sub-speciality interests, working at Frimley Park Hospital.
The department includes a Coronary Care Unit, Step Down Cardiology Ward, 2 Catheter Laboratories and Cardiology Investigations Unit. The Cardiology PPCI on-call commitment is 1:7 with a 1:9 commitment to an inpatient ‘Consultant of the Week’ rota when other duties are reduced.
Applicants should be on the GMC specialist register or be within 6 months (from the date of interview) of their expected CCST date.
The post holder’s core skills would allow them to provide cover for inpatient care in CCU and the cardiology ward which includes daily ward rounds at weekends and weekend cover, as well as outpatient clinics. The post holder will be expected to participate in primary PCI on-call on a 1:7 basis.
The basis of the post is 10 programmed activities, of which there will be 7 fixed sessions, the remainder will be allocated for supporting activities. The post holder would be expected to perform as consultant of the week on a 1:9 basis where all other activities are curtailed. On call duties are recognized for 2PA's, however, this is reviewed periodically.
