ABOUT THE ROLE

An excellent opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join out client on a part time, permanent basis.

Our client is a 30 bed rehabilitation hospital, with a settled, stable patient group comprising of males with an enduring mental health diagnosis who are detained under the Mental Health Act 1983, or on an informal basis. The hospital is proud to have a Good rating with CQC, with excellent local relationships including with community mental health and referrals team.

Our client offers 20 hour contract, made up of 16 hours on site over two days period, and 4 hours per week to be paid as an on call fee. They are flexible for your on site hours to work to suit you, and call outs are extremely rare.

Key responsibilities:

• Take responsibility for our client's patients and see that they receive holistic, person-centred care based on the recovery model
• Completing ward rounds
• Supervising referrals and admissions
• Evaluating and developing services alongside the hospital leadership team
• Provide a multidisciplinary team with perspective on patient assessment, formulation, and treatment
• Supervise an MDT
• Help with in-house training programmes and Continuing Professional Development
• Provide an on call service

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Recognised medical degree, MRCPpsych (or equivalent)
• Full GMC registration
• Section 12 approval
• Inclusion on the Specialist Register (or equivalent) in general adult psychiatry
• Significant experience of assessing and treating patients in a psychiatric setting
• Clinical auditing, risk assessment, and management knowledge
• Ability to communicate with a multidisciplinary team and support them to maintain the standard of care
• Full UK driving licence
