Job Title: Consumer Insights Assistant Manager

Business Function: Personal Care – Deodorants

Location: Leeds R&D


JOB PURPOSE

What does our role entail?

This role is an amazing opportunity to become an integral member of our Consumer Technical Insights (CTI)Team, that creates deep consumer understanding to guide the development of superior products and experiences.

We are looking for an individual with a natural curiosity and desire to interrogate and connect data to help us translate what consumers want into technical action standard that our teams can deliver against.

We are looking for a purpose-driven individual with a passion for learning, innovating, market research and data analysis. Someone who loves data and can interpret insight easily and turn them into business and product opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work as part of a cross-functional team and as the advocate of the consumer, support the team through translating briefs into robust CTI programmes.
  • Lead or support the planning, co-ordination, and execution of comprehensive CTI research for multiple initiatives, incorporating human panel, qualitative and quantitative testing as required to deliver outstanding innonnovations.
  • Deliver and manage end to end, quantitative and/or qualitative consumer market research projects through either internal market research capability and/or external partners.
  • Ensure all research is managed with the upmost ethical standards, including ensuring consumer personal & sensitive personal data is always protected.
  • Analyse and report consumer data to a high standard and evaluate alongside technical data, to build recommendations and next steps to shape product designs.
  • Champion the voice of the consumer and demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of Unilever & Competitor products within R&D to help identify opportunities for competitive advantage.
  • Build strong and collaborative relationships with both internal and external partners.
  • Present data in an appealing and engaging way tailored to the audience: fully detailed debrief to technical teams and higher-level summary at VP level as appropriate.

ALL ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science or Business, Economics, Market Research, Marketing, Statistics, Psychology
  • Experience in a Sensory science, clinical research, or consumer research role.
  • A passion for Consumers, Market Research & Data Analysis.
  • A passion for Unilever and its initiatives.
  • A desire to learn new business and technical skills.
  • Strong interest or knowledge of quantitative and/or qualitative market research methods.
  • Experience, knowledge or strong interest in statistics / statistical software such as R, SPSS, Python, Minitab, STATA.
  • Ability to recognise insights and communicate them effectively to a team.
  • Strong ambitions and independency.

Recruitment Fraud

Cyber criminals advertise fake job adverts with prestigious employers as a way of stealing information or even defrauding individuals out of money. In the most sophisticated cases, they will set up fake websites, which have a similar address to companies like Unilever. They even conduct fake telephone interviews and then offer candidates a role with the proviso they pay a fee for background checks or to cover work visa costs. These types of attacks are becoming more common as more people are looking for employment in the economic climate.

How is Unilever tackling this?

Many of Unilever’s recruitment sites publish a warning to candidates about recruitment fraud. The Cyber Security team also proactively scan for signs of people setting up fake Unilever sites and act to close them down.
