Job description

We are currently seeking an interim Consumer Insights Specialist, to work with our global FMCG client, renowned for brands such as Dove, Sure, Persil, and Simple, and become an integral part of their fast-paced FMCG environment.

The position is based at our client's scientific Research & Development facility in Port Sunlight Village, Wirral easily accessible by train and car. This is a full-time temporary role for 12 months, requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Compensation for this role is competitive, paying between £34,163 - £38,000 per annum, depending upon experience.

The Consumer Insights Specialist will translate product superiority & science into desire: desire sparked by blockbuster product claims & communications that inspire consumers and customers to choose our products. They will be consumer champions, ensuring product claims are inclusive and accurate whilst managing risk and driving competitiveness. Success will be enabled by strong partnerships across functions and locations.

Responsibilities:

  • Unearth the unique, winning product claims and demos hidden in our next-generation technologies, insights, formats and product experiences. Inspire and facilitate others to do the same.
  • Develop and refine the claims ambition for key brands within B&W
  • Substantiate, risk-assess and defend winning, consumer-relevant product claims
  • Co-ordinate claims development activities in a multi-disciplinary, dynamic business environment, providing a critical link between BU and BG Research and Development, Marketing, Legal & Regulatory Teams.
  • Deliver on specific strategic, activities and capabilities as part of the larger claims team, to "raise the game" in the way we develop claims.
  • Partner effectively with external agencies to generate consumer & technical communication insights, delivering true value for the business as a result.

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree in a physical science, consumer science or equivalent.
  • Experience working in product development, consumer marketing or Consumer Insights role.
  • Adept at understanding technical content, concepts and regulatory spaces in detail. A strong ability to translate the same content for non-technical audiences.
  • Effective when working as part of multi-disciplined, virtual teams across multiple concurrent projects.
  • A good communicator, obsessed by consumers and brands.
  • Brings the voice of the consumer into everything we do, by understanding the needs of the B&W consumer to help our brands and products find ways to better serve our consumers.
  • The judgement and capacity to work at pace, balancing appeal versus risk.
