Content Production Apprentice – PA Media

PA Media, the UK’s national news agency, is looking for Content Production apprentices to work in its Data division based in Howden, East Yorkshire. Through a full-time work placement with dedicated time to study each week, candidates will learn on-the-job in a fast-paced media organisation supplying content to high-profile UK businesses and media outlets. Candidates will develop core soft skills to aid long-term career development alongside the day-to-day duties of a Content Production role.

Who is PA Media?

PA Media Group is a diverse portfolio of specialist media companies spanning news & information, data, technology, and communications. The flagship brand is PA Media, the national news agency for the UK and Ireland. PA Media has office locations in London, Bristol and Howden. The apprenticeships are in PA Media’s Data division, which provides data and editorial content to high-profile companies across media, sport, corporate, betting and public sectors. There are opportunities in PA’s TV Listings department.

The program is a 12-15 month placement. Primarily, candidates will work and develop in Content Production roles but will have exposure to business support functions and SMEs throughout the duration of the program to aid development of core soft skills:

All apprentices will be mentored by a senior people leader within the business, ensuring their development is tracked and consistent with the aims and values of the placement.

At the end of the placement, the candidate will be required to complete a written assessment which demonstrates a full understanding of the business area they have been assigned to and recommendations on areas where the business could improve.

Work will be completed on location in PA’s Howden office for training and development. There will be one day of mandatory academic learning per week and the preference is that this day is spent on location at the college.
