The role
As a Continuous Improvement Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will play a key part in how the PP&E Programme delivers efficiently, effectively and with positive impact on staff wellbeing.
Day to day, you'll design and implement a best-in-class Continuous Improvement/Learning from Experience (LfE) process across a multi-site, multi-£100m programme.
  • Oversee implementation of improvement strategies and measure their effectiveness.
  • Analyse, standardise and improve processes across the programme (working closely with our partners) to minimise inefficiency.
  • Promote and relentlessly drive the development of a Continuous Improvement mindset across the programme, providing training to teams where required.
  • Provide constructive challenge to Senior Leadership, providing a different way of approaching and solving complex problems; this role also includes chairing Continuous Improvement meetings.

This is full time role with 37 hours per week with hybrid working from home arrangements (two days in the office per week.)
The role is adaptable and can be based at various sites, including Newbury, Berkshire or Warrington, Cheshire or Bristol.
Essential experience of the Continuous Improvement Manager:
  • Experience working in a complex programme environment, within a leadership role, designing and implementing Continuous Improvement outcomes through Lean methodology.
  • Evidence of previous success implementing Continuous Improvement strategies/impactful change in a multi-function programme
  • Experience embedding Continuous Improvement tools, mindset and processes that leverage the desired behaviours, by coaching teams throughout a complex programme.
  • Good communicator with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships across functions and all seniority levels.

Qualifications for the Continuous Improvement Manager:
  • Green Belt Six Sigma qualified, with a working knowledge of Lean and Kaizen.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC (BPSS to begin) security clearance for this role.
