It’s why we’re looking for someone who’s just as committed as we are, to push for genuine change and bring our ambition of Ecological Transformation to life.

We know that everyone here at Veolia can help us work alongside our communities, look after the environment, and contribute to our inclusive culture.

What we can offer you:

  • Access to our company pension scheme
  • Discounts on everything from groceries to well known retailers
  • Access to a range of resources to support your physical, mental and financial health; so you can lean on us whenever you need to
  • 24 hour access to a virtual GP, 365 days a year, for you and family members in your household
  • One paid days leave every year to volunteer and support your community
  •  Ongoing training and development opportunities, allowing you to reach your full potential

What You'll Be Doing:

As a Contract ECO Manager based in Southend, you will play a pivotal role in managing and developing the Education, Communications, and Outreach (ECO) function for our municipal contracts. This includes not only Southend but also Broadland, Tendring, and Harlow. Your primary focus will be to ensure that strategic project plans are executed effectively to meet set objectives.

You will collaborate closely with the Area Communications Manager and officers to create and implement community engagement projects aimed at changing resident behaviours and improving recycling rates. Your responsibilities will encompass budget management, timeline adherence, and quality control of these initiatives. Additionally, you will serve as the daily point of contact for the client and site management team, overseeing the routine outputs of the team.

Key responsibilities include identifying and developing good news stories, working with regional communications colleagues to meet regional and contract objectives, staying informed about industry developments, and fostering strong relationships with clients and colleagues across the east municipal region.

You will also supervise the activities of the contract ECO officer, around community engagement and project delivery. If you thrive on community interaction and project leadership, this is the perfect role for you.

What We're Looking For:

  • Ability to contribute and execute strategies that support company objectives.
  • Proven experience with delivering techniques and analysing results for behaviour change and community engagement.
  • Understanding of PR, social media, social advertising, and digital communications.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency in presentation and writing press releases.
  • A demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and manage customer relations effectively.
  • Experience using Canva software to create engaging visual content.
  • Familiarity with or experience in working with local authorities is advantageous.
  • Degree-level education or equivalent in a relevant field, or significant related experience.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence.
