Contract Head Of It

Deerfoot IT Recruitment is helping a collaborative company recruit a Head of IT, and the hybrid role will require circa 3 days per week at our prestigious clients Cambridge HQ and comes with a negotiable and competitive daily rate .

As a Head of IT, you will ensure all IT services are supplied in accordance with business objectives. You will also plan, direct, manage and oversee the activities and operations of the IT department's third-party developers, administering the IT budget, staff and physical facilities.

In your first few weeks in this Head of IT role, you can expect to:

• Work closely with directors, input into existing strategy/develop future strategy and IT plans to improve business performance
• Chair the IT Project Board and Governance processes
• Deliver the implementation of the IT strategy to ensure all defined targets are met and appropriate prioritisations and schedules are implemented
• Develop, agree and implement policies, procedures and standards relating to information and telecommunications systems to fulfil business needs
• Define and seek approval for IT resources required, including the development and preparation of an annual business plan and operating budget.

To apply for this Head of IT role, you will need proven senior IT management experience in SME within the private sector, preferably involving some aspect of consumer-facing business such as retail, hospitality, event management and e-commerce. You will also require the following:

• Track record of driving and defining complex IT service operations
• Must still have a good grasp as a "hands on IT Director"
• Must come from a background in retail/manufacturing or similar .
• Budgetary management experience and project management skills
