As a member of the Contracts, Governance and Information Law and Employment Team you will join a friendly and supportive team which works across Hampshire Legal Services and all Hampshire County Council directorates. Advising on matters that are as challenging as they are rewarding, you will advise on a range of interesting and complex projects that enable the directorates and Hampshire Legal Services’ external clients to achieve their ambitious targets.
The Role:
As a qualified Solicitor, Barrister, Legal Executive or equivalent, you will have substantial and relevant post qualification experience in the areas of commercial contracts and procurement law. This is an in-house lawyer role, where you will work individually and as part of a friendly team, taking on a complex caseload to provide professional and commercial legal advice to all Hampshire County Council directorates and a wide range of other organisations delivering public services, such as fire and rescue authorities, national park authorities, maintained and academy schools and police and crime commissioners.
You will have recent experience and a thorough working knowledge of commercial contract and procurement law, together with a familiarity of public sector shared services and joint working arrangements. We are looking for a lawyer who:
- Is able to demonstrate sound legal skills and judgment
- Adopts a pragmatic solution focused approach
- Has strong client relationship and communication skills
- Works collaboratively in a team and is able to support junior team members
- Can prioritise effectively and work independently to meet deadlines
- Shares Hampshire legal services’ values to deliver high quality legal advice.
