We are currently looking for a Contracts Officer for a role in Slough. As a member of the Contracts Management Team within Market Management, the post holder will be responsible for undertaking fee negotiation arrangements with Adult Social Care commissioned providers to ensure a fair cost is paid to enable a balance between affordability and quality of care.
Main Accountabilities:
- Responsible for all outstanding 23/24 annual inflationary fee uplift negotiations with commissioned providers (local and out of borough).
- Securing a breakdown of current and proposed fee costs with a supporting business case from providers. Analyse the breakdown and identify cost lines that appear to be outliers.
- Liaise with operational social work teams across Adult Social Care to check requests are in line with care plans if necessary.
- Plan negotiation meetings with providers to negotiate fees and agree uplift percentage within permissible budget parameters.
- To work constructively with Adult Social Care providers to help maintain relationships with markets.
- To prepare and present business cases as required seeking approval for fee uplifts which will require understanding of the local supplier market including benchmarking activity and working with host authorities regarding out of borough placements.
- To record fee negotiation activity in a Microsoft 365 Excel spreadsheet and track progress including fees agreed.
- Prepare reports on fee uplift negotiations, activity and outcomes on a weekly and monthly basis.
