Morson Talent are currently recruiting for a Control and Instrument Engineer based out of Newcastle to provide work in the Nuclear sector.
An esteemed organisation in the field of Nuclear Power and Engineering Technical Services (is seeking a talented C&I Engineer to join their dynamic team in Newcastle. This presents an incredible opportunity to contribute to a pivotal phase of business transformation, supporting the UK nuclear fleet and collaborating with various small and advanced modular reactor developers on design projects.
As part of this globally recognized company, you'll be at the forefront of innovation across multiple sectors, benefiting from the collective knowledge and guidance of over 350 EC&I engineers in the UK. Your role will play a significant part in advancing the UK and international efforts toward achieving net-zero carbon goals.
This position offers flexibility, with locations available in Manchester, Warrington, Newcastle, Knutsford, Gloucester, Dorchester, or Didcot. Embracing flexible working patterns, this role is designed to accommodate diverse lifestyles.
Key Responsibilities:
• Engage in diverse projects spanning the entire project lifecycle, from bid creation to concept, detailed design, installation, and commissioning.
• Contribute expertise in systems integration, along with testing and validating PLC, SCADA, and simulator systems.
• Demonstrate practical knowledge in implementing engineering designs, adhering to standards, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements within an engineering environment.
• Deliver high-quality technical reports while simplifying complex problems and fostering strong relationships.
Qualifications:
• Degree or equivalent qualification (e.g., HNC/HND with significant experience) in C&I or a related field.
• Pursuing Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status with a relevant professional body, with support provided.
• Awareness of civil nuclear plant systems, structures, components, and associated design and assessment guidelines, or relevant engineering principles from regulated industries.
• Understanding of pertinent guidelines, standards, and practices (e.g., IEC 61508, 61511, 61513, 61226, ONR SAPs / TAGS).
• Proficiency in the systematic design lifecycle of C&I systems, covering specification, design, assessment, verification, testing, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of safety or process-critical I&C Systems.
• Knowledge of high integrity hardware or software-based control systems for industrial equipment.
• Ability to work effectively in a team, meet deadlines, and communicate project progress.
• Strong communication skills to convey information to diverse stakeholders.
