Gi Pro are proud to be working in partnership with a manufacturing specialist. This company manufactures specialist machinery and have been at the forefront of their industry on an international level.

Job Role:
As a controls engineer, you will play an integral role on commissioning, configuration and support for 7-axes CNC machines designed and built by the company. The role will involve electrical machine tool design, tuning and configuration of axes and fault-finding ladder modification.

Role responsibilities:

Required

• Design, Specification, configuration, and fault-finding of CNC servo drive systems to comply with specifications and machinery directives.
• Supporting electrical aspects of the in-house machine production
• Producing CE/ UKCA machinery directive certification and relevant technical documentations such as BOM, risk assessment and diagrams.

• Creating and Editing of Ladder programs

• Providing customer service and problem solving of Fanuc/ Bosch MTX systems
• Liaising with management, other departments, and customers

Desirable

• Identify areas for improvement and implement plan of work.
• Global on-site commissioning or support

Qualifications (skills and experience)

Required

• 4+ years in technical role within electrical/ control engineering, especially machinery or system integration
• Experience of the CNC/ servo machine tools system (preferably Fanuc or Bosch) for the purposes of design, commissioning and debugging
• Experience of the principles of various motion drive system: rotary/ linear motors
• Experience of the implementation of safety systems for adjustable speed electrical power drive
• Experience of programming or design the control for mechanical/ electrical system.

Desirable

• Strong Electrical/ Control Engineering Degree
• Understanding of electrical automation systems including pneumatics, and hydraulic control
• Experience of CE/ UKCA MD (machinery directive) and Functional Safety for machine design
• Understanding of the safety implementation of EN (phone number removed), IEC (phone number removed)-2 and EN ISO (phone number removed): Performance Level (PL)
• Good electrical drawings skills (EPLAN, AUTOCAD, or OrCAD)
• Experience of programming in PLC, python, MATLAB, C++, or C
• Experience of the implementation of various electrical communication protocol e.g., Profibus, EtherCAT, Ethernet/IP etc
• Understanding of error composition and their relevant calibration or compensation methods
• Valid UK driving license.
• Valid passport
