Control Systems Engineer

Location: Plymouth

Salary: £40,000 + Benefits listed below

Full Time permanent position / Mon - Friday 08:30am - 16:30pm

The Role:

This role as a Control Systems Engineer presents an opportunity to drive innovation, improve manufacturing processes, and ensure the seamless operation of equipment, contributing to the enhancement of overall productivity and efficiency within the designated industry.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and control equipment software revisions, along with comprehensive supporting documentation.
  • Strategize, design, and specify enhancements to existing processes to augment productivity, efficiency, and mitigate risks stemming from component obsolescence.
  • Innovate, design, and specify new processes to align with manufacturing requirements.
  • Provide advice on potential control system upgrades that could enhance equipment performance.
  • Ensure that comprehensive software documentation, procedures, drawings, and parts lists are provided to the manufacturing teams within the technical construction file.
  • Maintain site control system specifications and uphold equipment standards.
  • Validate software and Control Systems according to the relevant standards.
  • Offer support to Operational Technical teams concerning breakdowns and fault-finding requests.
  • Undertake other duties as deemed appropriate by the Operational Technology Leader.

About You:

  • Hold a first-class or upper second-class honors degree in engineering or possess equivalent technical education (HND/HNC).
  • Demonstrate experience in a related environment, preferably within medical device manufacturing or the pharmaceutical industry, or demonstrate proven capability within BD.
  • Proficiency in programming and fault-finding PLC and servo-controlled equipment.
  • Familiarity with Allen Bradley and Omron equipment would be advantageous.
  • Proven track record of accomplishments in software and Control Systems within a related environment.
  • Proficient in generating and modifying electrical drawings, preferably using AutoCAD.
