Address Mylar Specialty Films UK Ltd (Formerly Dupont Teijin Films (UK) Ltd) is a leading global producer of PET and PEN polyester films specialising in film products and related services for markets and industries including Battery Materials, Durable Cards, Electrical Insulation and Capacitors, Flexible Electronics, Healthcare, Imaging Media, Labels, Packaging, Photovoltaics and many more. Mylar Specialty Films is a 50/50 Joint Venture between Celanese Corporation and Teijin Limited. The business has approx. 2000 employees worldwide with manufacturing sites in Asia Pacific, America and Europe. The UK production site is based in Dumfries, Scotland, and the Global Research & Development Operation is based at Wilton on Teesside.
We currently have vacancies at our Dumfries Site for two Control Technicians.
Manufacturing Group
- Oversees manufacturing and/or production operations, including assembly, machinery, processing and/or packaging.
- Sets production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, materials supply, staffing resources and volume required to meet demand and ensure maximum production quantity and quality.
- Supports, trains and builds the manufacturing line organization to maintain and enhance operations.
Maintenance
- Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems.
- Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve availability, capability and yield.
- Performs equipment failure analyses (including preventative and unscheduled maintenance).
- Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment problems.
- Prepares technical reports to document equipment modifications and equipment maintenance procedures.
Experienced technical position requiring full proficiency in a range of technical processes or procedures through considerable training and on-the-job experience.
Requires advanced skills and expertise in a range of processes, procedures and systems.- Understands how related teams coordinate their efforts and resources to achieve broader objectives within the business/function.
- Works with a limited degree of supervision, with oversight focused on new, complex assignments.
- Impacts the effectiveness of own team and closely related teams.
- Provides solutions to problems in situations that are atypical or occur infrequently based on existing precedents or procedures.
- Anticipates patterns and links; looks beyond the immediate problem to the wider implications.
