Controls Engineer – PLC / Industrial Controls – North Yorkshire – Permanent - £50-60k + 25 days holiday – Hybrid Working
Samuel Frank is recruiting for an OEM with a base in North Yorkshire as they’re looking for a Controls Engineer to join the team. The Controls Engineer role will suit a software specialist with experience of writing PLC code from scratch, ideally for special purpose / bespoke machinery.
Key aspects of the Controls Engineer role include –
- Have a strong background in writing PLC software using either Siemens, Beckhoff or Rockwell PLCs
- Knowledge of vision systems, motion control and or servo control – all useful attributes
- Company is developing first of their kind machines in an innovation focused environment
- Controls Engineer will provide a high level of skill in interpreting the customer’s and regulatory requirements to ensure software designs are aligned.
- Knowledge of British and international standards relating to the design and installation of industrial automation systems
- Conducting of assessments and generating technical documents to support the compliance to the Machinery Directive
- The successful Controls Engineer will have experience of producing good quality Functional Design Specifications (FDS) and FAT documentation.
- Networking of common automation hardware including EtherNET/IP, ProfiNET, Profibus, Modbus
- You must be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship.
- Machine safety knowledge e.g. BS EN ISO 13849 would ideal, as would any knowledge of the GAMP framework
Working week – 39 hours, role will preferably be a mix of office and home based with a flexible/core hours system in place for the hours worked in the office.
The client’s premises are commutable from the following locations Leeds, Selby, Wetherby, Harrogate, Ripon, York, Pontefract, Doncaster, Hull / East Yorkshire and Wakefield.
