Controls & Instrument Technician
Location: Medway Power Station, North Kent
OTE: Up to £55,000
Salary: £39,415 - £45,136 + skills shortage allowance (10% uplift to base salary) + performance-related bonus (up to 8%) + 3 yearly retention bonuses + paid overtime, shares option, up to 10 days extra holiday purchase, training as required + a range of other benefits to support your family and wellbeing.
You will be part of a team of Maintenance Technicians responsible for maintaining Control & Instrumentation plant and equipment to high standards and best practice to ensure the plant availability and reliability is maximised.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Maintenance: Ensure high standards of maintenance for plant and equipment to minimize repeat defects and maximize availability and reliability.
Safety Standards: Maintain high safety standards within the Maintenance department and for contractors, complying with the company's safety rules.
Planned Maintenance: Maintain key control & Instrumentation plant areas as defined by the planned maintenance strategy using best practices.
Supervision of Contractors: Supervise and host contractors as required.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education: Controls/Process Apprenticeship, City & Guilds, ONC/HNC level in Control and Instrumentation / Process Controls. Equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
Industrial Plant Maintenance: Knowledge of maintenance practices on industrial plants.
Control and Instrumentation Equipment: Familiarity with process measurement instrumentation (pressure, flow, temperature, PH, etc.), pneumatic control valves and equipment, CompEx and SIL systems, PLCs, distributed control systems (DCS), and industrial network communications.
Health and Safety: A broad understanding of Health and Safety practices. A certificate in IOSH or NEBOSH would be advantageous.
