Job description

Division of Infection and Immunity School of Medicine College of Biomedical and Life Sciences   We have an exciting opportunity to join the Core Bioinformatics Team at Cardiff University. This School of Medicine post will be aligned with the Wales Gene Park, Division of Infection and Immunity and Central Biotechnology Services (CBS) and is based at the Heath Park Campus. We are looking for someone who is experienced in working with data platforms commonly used in bioinformatics, including omics. The successful candidate will be required to support local and external researchers accessing bioinformatics services, support and training. They will join a small team of bioinformaticians and will benefit from peer interactions and access to established analysis workflows, training and national informatics networks. Candidates should be educated to degree level in bioinformatics, (or a closely related analytical subject) or with an equivalent level of experience evidenced by significant relevant outputs. Salary: £39,347 - £44,263 per annum (Grade 6). Appointments to roles at Cardiff University are usually made at bottom of scale unless in exceptional circumstances. The majority of roles at Cardiff University are currently operating under “blended working” arrangements, with staff having the flexibility to work partly from home and partly from the University campus depending on specific business requirements.
