Corporate Actions Manager

Purpose of the role
Man Group is a technology focused hedge fund and are creating opportunities across all parts of the firm to expand and take advantage of specific skillsets. This hybrid role is an ideal opportunity for a technical person to work on the business side of the firm. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years relevant experience and will focus on supporting and improving the Corporate Action processes.
The candidate will be responsible for managing, developing, and overseeing the London Asset Servicing team. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for risk management, risk & control improvements for existing processes, create operational efficiency, and high-quality management information to track KRIs. The candidate will liaise with investment and trading teams, counterparts, and custodians be involved in helping grow the business and providing operational input and support as business lines are added. The candidate will report into the Global Head of Reconciliations and London Asset Servicing.
Purpose of the team
The Asset Servicing team sits within Investment Operations focusing on electing, settling, and reconciling all corporate action events across our fund universe, and any related projects.
Responsibilities:

• Lead and assist in projects related to changing the operating model within the global Corporate Actions team
• Expertise in all aspects of Corporate Actions and associated income from held positions
• Capable of communicating complex ideas and events in a professional, simplistic, straightforward manner across different areas of the business
• Daily managerial responsibilities for two very experienced Corporate Action analysts
• Ownership of all ongoing core daily processes and associated controls
• Function as an escalation point for any high-risk or time sensitive ongoing issues and associated resolution/s
• Represent Operations in weekly and monthly risk meetings, ensuring appropriate controls, reporting and clear concise communication around items of ongoing risk
• Benchmark performance of external parties between each other and drive for a standardised model
• Problem solve any ongoing issues associated with a large-scale project change to a new Corporate Action vendor's system
• Own any reporting for Audit requirements

Key Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 5 years' experience gained from hedge funds, asset managers, and/or Prime Brokers
• Managerial experience required
• Experience of operating within a complex internal network of different investment types and strategies, across the full lifecycle of events and all global markets
• Understanding of the complex landscape of Prime Brokers and Custodians involved in processing corporate action elections
• Knowledge of processing Corporate Actions on Distressed Debt, high yield holdings and derivatives positions
• Ability to motivate, collaborate across the business, facilitate change and development of processes and people
• Contribute to the team's strategy for medium and long-term goals
• Experience using different vendor platforms and IT solutions to process Corporate Actions
