We are seeking a recently qualified or established Tax Senior with aspirations to progress within our thriving Business Tax team. This role offers the opportunity to manage and oversee a portfolio of corporation tax clients, ensuring compliance and engaging in advisory work. The successful candidate will be part of a key team within our organisation, working with a diverse mix of owner-managed companies and large international groups across various industries.
Day to Day of the role:- Prepare and potentially review UK corporation tax computations.
- Monitor reporting and payment deadlines.
- Advise the audit and accounts team on tax accounting entries and disclosures.
- Train and mentor junior colleagues within the Business Tax Team.
- Provide corporation tax compliance proposals and quotes to prospective clients.
- Coordinate and review other business tax-related returns, subject to experience.
- Manage financial performance in line with KPIs.
- Handle correspondence with clients and HMRC.
- Identify opportunities for tax planning, risk mitigation, and cross-selling between service lines.
- Assist with ad hoc projects and duties as required.
- Ensure adherence to the Firm’s technical, ethical, risk, and compliance procedures.
- Corporate tax technical and practical knowledge.
- Understanding of tax issues affecting OMBs and their shareholders.
- Knowledge of other business taxes and tax reporting processes is preferable.
- Competence in interpreting accounts and other financial information.
- Strong IT skills, including MS Office and databases; Alphatax is ideal but not essential.
- Excellent communication and organisation skills.
