We are recruiting an Costing / CAD Engineer for our Yate based client. This is an office-based position, and may suit either a college leaver with an Engineering qualification, or someone who has previously worked in a fabrication environment who now wishes to work in an office environment.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Costing / CAD Engineer will be expected to:
- Prepare accurate costs for materials, labour and services
- Input cost data into company database (MS Access & Excel)
- Notice and query differences between estimated and actual costs
- Provide manufacturing steps
- Liaise with both Customers and Shopfloor personnel, via telephone, email and in person
- Maintain all standards of Health and Safety of the Company
- Implement the company s policies and business objectives
- Must be computer literate and competent in Microsoft Office
- Have the ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Be able to work on their own initiative
- Will have experience of working to deadlines
- CAD experience would be an advantage, although this is not essential as the CAD element of the role can be taught.
- Must be flexible to learn other elements of the business to cover for holiday and sickness.
The position comes with a mid-level salary, in line with all other employees within the business; as well as a 3 month probationary period. The company gives a generous flexible holiday entitlement of 33 days, 5 of which are saved for the Christmas Shutdown period.
