UK & Ireland (part of Valmet’s, North West Europe region within its Europe Market Area) will be a dynamic and fast-developing area for Flow Control in the coming years driven by decarbonisation, continued high oil demand, legislation regarding critical raw materials and recycling as well increasing expectations for automation of process industries. The current Country Manager is moving to a senior sales role within the North West Europe area organisation and we are now looking for a new Country Manager Sales and Services UK & Ireland. In this role you will lead and drive the business for Flow Control in the area and continue to develop our winning team. Our customers are the leading process industry companies in industries like Refining & Chemicals, Renewable Energy & Gases (including Hydrogen), Mining & Metals, CCUS and Pulp & Paper. You will also plan and execute the local business strategy in alignment with business lines and Europe market area. Country Manager, Sales and Services, UK & Ireland role includes a wide range of different responsibilities, including
- Promote, develop and role model health, safety and environment (HSE) practices within your team and at our Service Centre in Seaham •Driving above-market sales growth while maintaining strong profitability
- P&L and Net Working Capital responsibility for the local business
- Formulate and execute short- and long-term local business strategy in alignment with company strategy
- Lead and develop a team of ~20 SALES AND SERVICES professionals with main locations in Basingstoke and Seaham
- Continuous positive development of customer satisfaction
- Organisation and people development based on strategy and market changes
- Talent development (product and application knowledge, customer intimacy, know-how of Valmet’s wide range of value adding solutions)
- Tight collaboration with other business lines of Valmet locally To be successful in this role you can ideally demonstrate
- 10+ years of experience in a customer-facing role in the flow control industry
- 5+ years of managerial experience. Experience from managing managers is considered an advantage
- Understanding of how to drive business growth in a complex customer environment including end users, OEMs, licensors, integrators and/or international EPC customers
- Experience in managing an omnichannel go-to-market set-up including direct SALES AND channel partners
- High integrity, open and collaborative management style
- Demonstrated track record of business planning, forecasting and target setting in both short and long term
- Demonstrated ability to generate business growth and versatile understanding of revenue generation strategies and tactics
- Strong networking, influencing and interaction skills
- Experience from working in an international matrix organization
- Awareness of contract law with experience from (and success in) complex project contract negotiations
- Strong presentation and analytical skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Demonstrated ability to attract, recruit and retain talent
- Relevant engineering/technical qualification base
- Current UK Driving Licence
