Educate are looking for individuals to step into classrooms and deliver English to a number of schools across the Chester area, supporting on a day-to-day basis.
Key Responsibilities for this role:
- Utilize your creativity and subject expertise to deliver high-quality English lessons in line with the national curriculum, injecting your own spin and personality into the content.
- Provide cover for absent teachers, ensuring continuity of learning and a positive classroom environment.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively, using innovative techniques to engage and motivate students.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to create lesson plans and resources that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of students.
- Foster a love of learning in students by sharing your enthusiasm for the English language and literature.
- Support students' academic and personal development through mentorship and guidance.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance and behaviour, reporting any concerns to the appropriate school staff.
- Stay up-to-date with educational trends and best practices to continuously improve your teaching skills.

Responsibilities of a Cover Supervisor:
- Supervise classes and deliver pre-prepared lessons in the absence of a teacher
- Ensure that students are engaged, motivated and on task
- Manage any behaviour issues that may arise
- Follow school policies and procedures
- Maintain accurate records of student progress
Requirements of a Cover Supervisor:
- A degree or Level 3 qualification with solid standards of literacy and numeracy
- Experience working or volunteering with children or young people
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to manage behaviour effectively
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn
- Flexibility and adaptability
Registrations required to be a Cover Supervisor:
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, but if you do not have one, you can apply for a new one through Educate.
- You must register with the EWC (Education Workforce Council) to work in Wales.
