Role: Cover Supervisor
Location: Sheffield
Pay Rate: £87-£100
Hours: 0830-1530
Contract: Temp/Flexible
GSL Education are currently recruiting for Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools in the SheffieldArea. Cover supervisor positions offer flexible work and competitive rates of pay, without the workload of planning and marking lessons, etc.
It provides excellent opportunities for graduates to gain experience in a school setting, developing classroom experience before deciding what career path in education you wish to choose. Or perhaps you have other commitments and need a greater work/life balance. Cover supervising also gives retired teachers the opportunity to earn extra money without the planning, marking, and commitment required with full-time or permanent teaching.
What the role will involve:

• Supervising classes of up to 30 teenagers
• Can be any age group from y7-13
• A timetable is issued with 6 lessons, usually, upon arrival and will likely be a variety of subjects (eg history, French, science, English, and ICT)
• You don't need to be a specialist as work will always be left, you just need to be confident to maintain focus and keep the young people engaged
• Primary objective is to maintain control of the classroom and keep the learners working, completing the work left by their class teacher
• Communicate with the class teacher wherever possible, you may be their eyes and ears Be active, walking around the class and helping wherever possible – but maintain spatial awareness…

• Graduates
• Anyone who wants to gain experience before training to teach Existing Cover Supervisors
• Overseas trained teachers who wish to gain experience in Sheffield schools
• You will need a valid DBS
• You will need proof of right to work in the UK
• You will need to be able to provide references so we can conduct background checks
