Job description

Creative Learning Producer

The Ambassador Theatre Group is an extraordinary success story in the live entertainment industry. Founded in 1992 in the UK, we’ve grown into the world’s number one live-theatre company today. We cover every discipline in the theatre industry, from operating venues to producing shows and ticketing, through our industry-leading sites ATGtickets.com, LOVEtheatre and Group Line. We are passionate about great shows and our ambition is to help them find the largest possible audiences.

The Grand Opera House is the largest theatre in York at just under 1,000 seats. The Theatre was re-launched in October 2022 following significant investment in its bars, dressing rooms and seating. We host a varied programme from west-end touring musicals and plays to popular comedians and one night music gigs.

We pride ourselves on delivering a gold-standard welcome to everyone that comes through our doors, whether that be audiences, communities taking part in our Creative Learning work or Visiting Companies.

The Creative Learning Producer Role

This is the perfect time to join The Grand Opera House! Following a major re-launch, the Theatre is on track to have one of its best years yet and we’re looking for the perfect person to join us at this pivotal time as we continue to explore new ways of bringing fantastic experiences to our local community.

The role is based at the Grand Opera House in the centre of the historic city of York. Situated just up from the beautiful riverside, there are many bars, restaurants and leisure activities within stone’s throw of the Theatre providing plenty to see and do all year round.

As a Department Head, this role reports directly to the Theatre Director. You’ll develop and deliver inspiring learning and engagement activities which add to York’s cultural community and responds to local needs and opportunities, supported by ATG’s Creative Learning Strategy.

You’ll be collaborative, dedicated, and passionate about the power of the arts to make positive change in people’s lives and will draw on your experience to support partnership ventures, audience development projects, as well as a long-term programmes for a diverse range of participants.  You’ll have an awareness of the local cultural and education landscape to ensure that activities have impact with audiences and participants.

Creative Learning & Community Partnerships in York is part of a UK wide network of ATG venues with teams working collaboratively alongside passionate colleagues in other areas to drive both local and nationwide impact.
