THE ROLE
Being part of the Accounts Receivable team and working closely with internal and external stakeholders of Ted Baker.
Reports to: Finance Operation Manager
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for meeting targets in monthly receivables and keeping bad debt to a minimum
- To collect cash in a manner that produces the optimum cash flow from customers including payment plans, support accounts, and proforma accounts
- To create new client accounts and set them up on the system
- Download bank statements to identify customer payments
- Entering and allocating cash by Ted’s bank reconciliation policy
- Run and monitor the aged debt analysis to identify overdue accounts
- Chasing overdue accounts by telephone, email, and letter
- Negotiate payment plans and settlements with debtors, including fixing terms and conditions
- Resolving queries both internally and externally around outstanding invoices
- Reconciling customer accounts over the telephone and in writing
- Resolving account queries whenever necessary
- Resolving debit notes issues
- Run monthly Aged Creditor and provide commentary on top 20 overdue
- Monitor the level of unallocated items within the ledger
- Maintaining accurate records
- Work with internal stakeholders to set up new customers on the system
- Dealing with internal queries about payments
- Issuing of invoices and statements
- Develop and implement effective credit control policies and procedures to minimise credit risk and improve collection efficiency
TOOLS OF THE TRADE
- Proficiency in excel and word
- Proficient in Accounting Systems such as NetSuite
- Experience within the fashion retail background is an advantage
- Good understanding of the current retail climate
- Ability to establish and maintain good client relationships, both internally and externally at all levels
- Experience in credit control
