The role  

 

Sits within the Credit Risk team, supporting the development of the lending strategy to drive long-term, sustainable profit from our Financial Services offering.  You will develop technical skills alongside regulatory and commercial understanding to undertake analysis to ensure the right risk decisions are being made for our customers.

What will you do as a Credit Risk Analyst at N Brown?   

 

(Responsibilities and Accountabilities): 

  • To develop an understanding of Financial Services and its role within N Brown. 
  • To develop proficient skills in SQL and SAS. 
  • To develop an understanding of the data in the N Brown data warehouse relevant to the role 
  • Undertake analysis following guidance from your manager, together with providing conclusions and recommendations, to develop and improve lending strategy. 
  • Create and undertake analysis to monitor the groups lending strategies and risk decision systems to ensure these are working as expected 
  • Be responsible for producing reports in a timely manner and ensuring the accuracy of regular reporting including reporting to Director level 
  • To develop an understanding of the Financial Services key metrics and Credit Risk Key Risk Indicators and how changes in these can affect N Brown performance 
  • To develop knowledge of Financial Services decision systems relevant to the role, e.g. Powercurve, to design, test and implement lending strategy changes. 

 

Who you are (Job qualifications and key skills): 

  • Highly analytical with strong technical skills 
  • Degree level educated, ideally in a numerate discipline 
  • Ability to spot data trends and make recommendation based on analysis and information 
  • Self-Motivated 
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal 
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • Natural team player 

 

Software and Technology skills: 

  • No previous experience of SAS or SQL is required as training will be provided, however, any coding experience is welcomed 
  • The use of Microsoft Excel, or similar
